Day 2: Day 2: Skopje Mavrovo Ohrid
In the morning sightseeing of the Macedonian capital, we will see the Old Town with the Kale Fortress and the Church of St. Spas, as well as the New Town with the Alexander Fountain and the Mother Teresa Memorial House. After that we will drive to the Mavrovo National Park. Unique nature and the highest mountains of Macedonia are waiting for us. Sightseeing of the monastery Sv. Jovan Bigorski, further to the UNESCO city Ohrid.
Day 3: Day 3: Ohrid Sveti Naum
We drive to the center of the UNESCO town and get our first impressions during a boat ride along the promenade to the church Kaneo, probably the most famous photo spot in Macedonia. From here we explore the city on foot. Afterwards free time for strolling, in the afternoon we visit the monastery of Sveti Naum, one of the most important sanctuaries of the Macedonian Orthodox Church. In the evening back to our hotel in Ohrid.
Day 4: Day 4: Ohrid Berat Tirana
Today we leave Macedonia and travel to Albania. We reach the UNESCO city of Berat, also called the city of a thousand windows. We will visit the fortress, which is still inhabited today. Then we continue to the capital Tirana, where we check into our hotel after a city tour.
Day 5: 5. Tirana Shkodra Lake Scutari
After breakfast we head north to the city of Shkodra, the largest city in northern Albania. We will visit Rozafa Fortress, one of the largest fortifications in the Western Balkans. Then we pass the border with Montenegro and reach Lake Scutari. Here we will take a boat trip and besides the charming nature we will see the "Alkatraz" of Montenegro, an abandoned prison island. Day 6: Day 6: Budva Cetinje Njegusi Perast Kotor
Drive to Cetinje - the old capital of Montenegro. Aging embassy buildings still tell the story of the metropolis of a state that was once considered the poorest kingdom in Europe. We pay a visit to the Royal Palace. Then we drive to the village of Njegusi. Here we will taste the famous raw ham. We can also watch the women baking and preparing bread. In the afternoon the next highlight of the trip, after a breathtaking descent on one of the most spectacular roads of the country we reach Perast. Boat trip in the bay of Kotor to the monastery island Maria on the Rock. City tour Kotor with the cathedral Sv. Trifun, then we return to Budva.
Day 7: Day 7: Budva Podgorica Tara Canyon Pec
Today we first explore the Montenegrin capital Podgorica. After a city tour we continue through the famous Moraca Canyon to the deepest canyon in Europe, the second deepest in the world - Tara Canyon. In the afternoon we drive to the Kosovar border, shortly after we reach the town of Pec, where we check into our hotel.
Day 8: Day 8: Pec Prishtina Skopje
After breakfast we will visit the Patriarchate Church in Pecs. Short tour in Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo. We pass the border with North Macedonia and reach the capital Skopje. We will take a city walk - we will see among others the Old Town with the Kale Fortress, the Church of St. Spas and the Great Bazaar, as well as the New Town with the Alexander Fountain and the Mother Theresa House. In the evening, a traditional dinner with music awaits us in a restaurant in Skopje.
