Murano is an island in the Venetian Lagoon in northeastern Italy, in the Veneto region. Located about 1 kilometer from the city of Venice, it is famous for its glass craftsmanship, particularly its lamps, glasses, cups, and ornaments. It has approximately 6,000 inhabitants. Murano is made up of seven smaller islands separated by canals and waterways but connected by bridges. It is known worldwide for its production of artisanal (blown) glass. Thanks to this craftsmanship, the island attracts a large number of tourists.
